Why was this product developed? Why not just buy a traditional houseboat?

A large percentage of traditional houseboats leave the slip only occasionally and many do not ever leave their slip. We are offering an alternative product that is lower maintenance, more energy efficient and lower cost than a traditional houseboat. We believe that many people want to be on the water but do not want the stress of piloting or the effort and cost of maintaining a traditional houseboat. No waxing required.

 

 

 

How is this condo different than a houseboat?

Our condos offer an alternative to the traditional houseboat for those people who want to be on the water but do not take their houseboats out of the slip. Our condos utilize home style construction with Hardi-plank siding, metal roofs and aluminum reinforced vinyl deck railings. These features virtually eliminate exterior waxing and cleaning.  Our home style construction provides high “R” value insulation and allows unique interior features such a cathedral ceilings and loft bedrooms.

 

 

 

How is this condo similar to a houseboat?

Our condos are constructed on a full aluminum houseboat hull providing a very stable construction platform. This greatly enhances durability of the structure while allowing the water tanks, water heaters, HVAC unit, batteries, holding tanks and other items to be put in the hull conserving space in the main cabin. The aluminum hull also provides ample storage for water toys and a multitude of other needed items. Floor plans can be very innovative utilizing main level bedrooms, cuddy bedrooms, loft bedrooms different floor levels, sunken tubs and showers.

 

 

 

How do I register my condo?

Our condos have a houseboat hull ID and are registered as houseboats.  They can be registered in the state of residence or they can be federally documented. We can help with this process.

 

 

 

How do I finance my condo?

Our condos enjoy preferred mortgages like houseboats and can typically be financed for 20 years. We can provide contact information for financial institutions familiar with our products.

How do I get insurance for my condo?

Can I customize the floor plan for my condo?

In addition to our one and two story standard floor plans we can custom design a unit just for you. Please contact us with your ideas and we will develop a floor plan that fulfills your dreams.

 

 

 

How much time does it take for my condo to be built & delivered?

Time to build a condo is 10 – 12 weeks.  Time to deliver and setup a unit depends on where it is being delivered.  Typically in the southeast US it would take 1 – 2 weeks.

 

 

 

Where can I dock my condo?

Our condos can be docked in regular houseboat slips 18’ or wider, on bouy lines or at private docks. The method of dockage will depend on the type of dockage that is available on your lake and on local lake restrictions.

 

 

 

How will my condo be delivered?

Our condos are transported to your lake in two loads and are assembled on-site prior to launching.

 

 

 

How long does it take to assemble my condo on site?

On-site assembly prior to launch takes 1 day. Finish work after launch typically takes 2 – 4 days.
